Training for Qualified Counsellors and Therapists working with children

THE THEORY and PRACTICE of COUNSELLING and THERAPY with CHILDREN IN A SCHOOL SETTING

60 hours CPD certification.

The course is for qualified counsellors and therapists who want to increase their skills to extend their work to children and schools.

Participants will explore theoretical and practical aspects of working with children.

Topics covered include: Attachment Theory; Child Development; Neuroscience and Children’s Brains; Emotional development; Emotional Barriers to Learning; Use of metaphor in Play, Art, Sandtray, Drawing, Story; Loss and Bereavement in Children; Boundaries and Containment; The Law in relation to therapy with children.

A TWO-TERM COURSE (20 WEEKS)
